The prefix /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew was chosen so that users without admin access can ask an admin to create a linuxbrew role account and still benefit from precompiled binaries. Using /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew allows the use of more binary packages (bottles) than installing in your personal home directory. Homebrew does not use sudo after installation. This is done for you already on macOS 10.14 Mojave and newer. The installation script installs Homebrew to /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew using sudo if possible and within your home directory at ~/.linuxbrew otherwise. You must restart your terminal window for the installation of MacTex CLI tools to take effect. To make the Homebrew-installed programs available in your shell, you need to add your Homebrew installation location to your PATH.
